Before proceeding directly to the lining of the balcony, you need to decide on the material with which you will sheathe your balcony. There are three types of material with which you can sheathe the balcony, these are: plastic, MDF panels and drywall. Plastic is very practical in use, it has high moisture resistance, which is very important when lining the balcony. In addition, it has not a very high cost. The assembly of plastic sheathing is usually carried out on wooden rails or metal profiles.
Another advantage is that in case of damage, plastic sheathing is easy to replace. But she also has a rather low resistance to various mechanical damage, such as scratches, dents. MDF panels, unlike plastic, is much better heat capacity. They are somewhat stronger and due to this more durable. In addition, they have a wider selection of their design, for example, with the help of them you can make a lining of a balcony under a natural tree.
Often, MDF is treated with a special solution intended for its additional protection against the exposure of the external environment. Gypsum plasterboard sheathing is very well insulated with your balcony, because drywall itself is a heater, this material is also quite strong. His only drawback is that he is afraid of moisture.
For the exterior decoration of the balcony, vinyl siding or PVC is most often used. These are very practical materials, they do not absorb moisture, do not burn out in the sun, have a long service life and are resistant to sharp temperature differences. These materials have a large color palette, so you can choose any color to your taste.
It’s best to cover the floor on the balcony, the thickness of which should be 30 centimeters.
You can insulate the balcony using mineral wool, foam or foil polyizol.
