Earlier, people described the methods of preparing varnishes and oils, as well as paints, vegetable oils and natural oils. Based on natural vegetable oils, Leonardo da Vinci himself made paints for himself. The first methods of preparing varnish are described in the 900-year-old treatise. That is, film -forming materials and substances were made earlier, just there are simply no entries about them. In fact, the cook of varnishes was up to the age of automation and electrification of the real art. In any cook of digger varnishes, it was just such an art that was carefully guarded and hidden, but nevertheless, the secret of this varnish was disclosed and then there were much more varnish products. The film of this varnish had increased strength, hardness and resistance to atmospheric influences. Such varnishes were used only for those products that were aesthetically beautiful in themselves – crews, carriages, musical instruments and so on.
At that time (the beginning of the 20th century), cheaper, but nevertheless, durable varnishes were made of rosin – the pitchfork of the resin, which was made of coniferous wood (mainly pine). These varnishes often included polymerized vegetable oils. This varnish allows you to make viscous and thick, and always these varnishes were primarily waterproof materials. Things revealed by such varnish are able to possess viscosity and elasticity at the same time, despite their rather low quality, they served their owners by faith and truth for a lot of years.
