Audi will present the sixth-generation “hydrocarbon” A6 family in addition to the electric A6 e-tron, which premiered last year.
The Audi company is in turmoil amid a collapse in sales, its development strategy is currently being urgently rewritten, and it is unknown what it will ultimately lead to. Audi is getting worse at competing on equal terms with BMW and Mercedes-Benz, so the management of the “four rings” decided to take a swing at the luxury segment – they say there is no need to chase circulation and the profit from each car sold is higher. Audi’s move into the luxury segment will be gradual and will stretch out over the years, and therefore the next new products will be positioned in the premium segment, which is familiar to it, including the new Audi A6.
Audi is abandoning the concept of dividing the indexes of its new models by the type of power plant: it was assumed that in the future all “electric” cars would receive even indexes, and “hydrocarbon” cars – odd, but against the background of weak sales of electric cars, such differentiation was recognized as inappropriate, it also confuses consumers. We are saying this because the new Audi A6 should have been called the Audi A7, but in the end it will still be called the Audi A6, as it was before, that is, you will not have to get used to anything.
