Very often when decorating housing, you need to leve the floor. For this, the production of the screed is created. Such screeds allow you to hide communications, lay under them heating. They are available in the form of dry mixtures, the basis of which is cement or gypsum. By their characteristics, the mixture guarantees strength, quality, simplicity of circulation. The main thing is to observe all the proportions when adding a liquid. Overdo it – do not get a screed of the desired quality. The solution should be distributed without effort on the floor, forming an even coating.
When purchasing a dry mixture, pay attention to where the base is best suited, how many centimeters can be poured with a solution in one pass. Keep in mind that not all screeds are unearthly suitable for the installation of warm floors. Read carefully what restrictions they have.
When you apply a screed to concrete floors, do not forget to treat it with suitable primers before that. For example, waterproofing will be appropriate in the bathhouse. You can well put parquet, laminate on a ready -made screed. For linoleum, you will also need to treat the screed with a primer.
Choose mixtures for screeds
Before giving a sparkle of laminate or the smoothness of the parquet, we need to correctly align the basis under them. You can choose different methods, but it is easier to use dry mixtures. An additional bonus will be noise insulation and low thermal conductivity.
If the floor slabs have large differences and irregularities, you will need a concrete screed. The floors are more – less even? Take cement screed. Only strictly make sure that work is carried out according to the “wet” method. The layer must be periodically wetted so that hardening occurs evenly.
Interesting in the use of a semi -dry screed called cement – sandy. It is placed directly on the ceilings, freezes in a day, it does not need to be moistened, and you can start the finish coating on the fourth day.
“Pros” cement-sand screed:
• it does not leak to the lower floor;
• it does not need to be aligned additionally;
• Solution for screed is prepared directly in the formwork.
Leveling mixtures
It is not always required when aligning to make screeds. If the floor has only small differences, make bulk floors. True, they cannot be poured with a thick layer (more than a centimeter).
Dry mixtures can be used in combination, that is, pour individual sections without mixing together. For example, there is a recess on the floor, deep enough, but one. It can be poured with a concrete screed, and neighboring areas with a waterproof solution.
