Structural thermal insulation panel, or SIP panel, is represented by a structural material consisting of three parts. Similar designs are also called sandwich – panels. The composition of the SIP panel includes OSB-3 plates (oriented-bearing plates), the space between which is filled with insulation-PSBS 15 polystyrene foam. Compressed, they become a material with which the formation of unusually durable material occurs, which can be used directly as the supporting structures of the house. American developers say that such panels are able to withstand the longitudinal load equal to 10 tons per linear meter, 2 tons in the transverse direction.
The advantage of SIP panels is the excellent strength. The following, most important advantage of SIP panels, is the presence of magnificent thermal insulation properties. SIP panels have superiority over brick and concrete walls in thermal insulation by about 8 times, and 4 times over wooden. In the presence of good thermal insulation, there is not bad sound insulation. There are not many SIP plates – about 30 kg, two qualified workers easily cope with them.
