Among the coniferous species of wood used in construction, there is a mansion of larch. Products from which wall decoration are used. For this purpose, a trimming board or a lining board is usually used. In addition, larch is also used in the construction of walls of wooden houses.
Overlap
The most widespread and used by building material can be considered wooden boards that are used in the construction of both wooden and other houses. Boards are used for the construction of floors, partitions, door and window openings, they are used for the manufacture of formwork when pouring the foundation or with monolithic concrete construction. In any of these processes, it is convenient to use a trimmed board, which is characterized by the correct rectangular (without edges) in the diamond form. At the same time, the width of the boards significantly exceeds its thickness.
The popularity of larch products, including trimmed and non -cut boards, is explained by the high stability of its wood towards decay. This property determines the use of larch in rooms with high humidity and in other places where there is a high probability of condensation or sucking groundwater.
Types of boards by location in a log
Based on the site of the sawing of the tree, in the manufacture of boards, the core, central and side boards are distinguished. The first, obtained with a radial cut (approximately at a right angle to the annual rings), contain the core and a significant number of large and small knots. Such boards are most often subject to cracking.
When sawing at an angle of less than 60 degrees to annual rings (semi -radial cut), central boards are obtained. These boards are less prone to cracking, and wood defects are found on the internal, in relation to the core, the surface of the boards.
Side boards are obtained with a tangential cut of logs (at a relatively large distance from the core). They have a more uniform texture without knots and vices, are easily processed and generally characterized by the best quality.
Decorativeness of larch wood
The wood of larch wood is darker than in other conifers and has a reddish tint. Furniture from larch has a small number of knots. Thanks to these external features, as well as resistance to decay processes, boards from larch are used to decorate building structures.
Thus, larch wood has excellent decorativeness, resistance to decay and significant strength, which determines the widespread spread of this breed of wood in the construction industry.
