The premiere of the new compact frame SUV of the Japanese brand is expected to take place in the fall of 2025.
Toyota has been producing a small SUV called the FJ Cruiser since 2006, its feature was a retro-style design. The compact SUV left its main American market in 2014, three years later the FJ Cruiser disappeared from the “domestic” lineup, and in 2022 sales in the Middle East were discontinued, with customers from Saudi Arabia getting a farewell Final Edition series, released in a circulation of 1,000 copies.
In 2023, it became known that the Toyota FJ Cruiser will have an indirect successor, which is intended for the global market. Let us recall that the first teaser of the future new product was most likely shown by the Japanese company during the presentation of the current Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (in some markets it is simply Land Cruiser): an image of the silhouettes of the upcoming new products appeared on the screen, with one of them being a small car with “square” shapes. The production version will borrow some of the design solutions from the Compact Cruiser EV concept, which was shown at the end of 2021.
