The main purpose of using the paint for staining the ceiling is to obtain a durable snow -white surface. For this purpose, there are special paints for ceilings, made on the basis of synthetic dispersions and aqueous solutions of adhesives. The paint for the ceilings varies in the degree of shine and in resistance to moisture effects. They are latex, acrylic, silicate and silicone.
Latex collars
Latex paints are durable, do not lose colors for many years, do not drip from the ceiling during painting, do not exfoliate, have good covering ability, economical, moisture resistance. They can be used for painting porous surfaces in dry rooms, on old, painted water-dispersion paint to surfaces, as well as on surfaces with the remains of old coatings, including oil paint. Before painting, they must first be treated with an impregnation primer on water -based. But latex paints are not suitable for wooden surfaces, as well as surfaces, previously painted with alkyd and nitro -paints and processed putty based on organic solvents.
Acrylic water-dispersion paints have good covering ability, so they are economical in work. They hide the surface defects well, do not yellow over time, durable, have good breathability, dry quickly, do not have a pungent odor. But they can only be used for painting ceilings in dry rooms.
Acrylic water-dispersion paints
Silicature paints are paints made on the basis of synthetic dispersions and intended for rooms with high humidity. Their basis is liquid potassium glass. Thanks to this, silicate paints have good vapor permeability, moisture resistance and antibacterial properties. They are used for painting mineral surfaces: stone, concrete, cement and lime plaster, the surface, which are pre -treated with silicate primers. The disadvantages of silicate colors are their weak elasticity, so they cannot hide the surface defects.
Silicone paints are the best paints for the ceiling, but also the most expensive. They have all the advantages and silicate and acrylic colors. They have very high vapor permeability, more elastic than acrylic paints. They have very good decorative properties. The painted surface is resistant to pollution. Silicone paint can be stained with surfaces previously painted with silicate paints. Silicone paints have antibacterial properties. Compatible with acrylic latex and mineral paints.
