There are several websites that make it easier to buy a car from private owners. craigslist.org – choose a country, state, price, car model. The choice is large, if not huge.
Kelley Blue Book kbb.com – on this website you can see the approximate cost of a car based on its model, year, configuration, condition. A very useful and convenient service. Free.
DMV (Department of Motor Vechicles, in our GIBDD or GAI) dmv.ca.gov (California DMV) – there you will find comprehensive information on buying, selling a car, paperwork. This was our “handbook”. Everything is described there simply and clearly. True, in English.
Carfax – you can look up the history of any car: accidents, maintenance, oil change, change of owners. In general, you can find out everything. Only for a fee. I think they have a free version. But it’s easier to find someone you know who has unlimited access and ask them to give you a dossier on the car. Each car has a VIN number, which is usually located on the dashboard under the windshield and is visible to everyone. Using this number, you can find out the history of this car.
!!! Advice: don’t rush if you are being hurried to do something. If you are just looking around, and you are already being taken to the bank, then something is wrong and the situation is losing control.
