Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is launching the updated fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander in the US. The crossover has received a slightly refreshed design, a modified suspension, improved sound insulation and a Yamaha audio system. Prices have risen, as expected.
In the US, the Outlander crossover (compact by local standards) is the flagship and at the same time the bestseller of the Mitsubishi model range: last year, its sales here amounted to 45,253 units, which is 6.5% more than sales in 2023. The plug-in hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is considered a separate model in the US, last year it sold 6,975 units (+ 4.4%), the update has not yet affected it, although in Europe and Japan such a crossover underwent a restyling last year.
All Outlanders are currently produced only by the Japanese Mitsubishi plant in Okazaki, externally the versions for different markets are practically no different from each other, but in terms of the interior, the “American” Outlander stands a little apart. Signs of the updated Outlander on the outside are a smooth upper panel between the headlights instead of the previous mesh, new LED filling of the lights and upper sections of the headlights, a more angular rear bumper, a more embossed lower lining of the front bumper, a new design of wheel disks (18 or 20 inches) and a new body color Moonstone Gray Metallic.
