The blockage in the sink is able to deliver a lot of experiences and inconvenience. And, of course, it is better not to allow such a problem, but if it arises, then you can try a few simple ways to eliminate the blockage on your own:
1) the use of a plunger. In order to clean the pipes from blockage, the cables are tightly pressed to the drainage hole. Then it is necessary to make at least 10 sharp movements up and down, after which remove it with the same sharp movement. If necessary, make a session again. In the sink, when working with a plunger, there should be water covering its upper rubber. In order for the procedure to make it very important to block the plums in the bath and other sink.
2) a plumbing cable in the form of a long wire with a rotation handle will help to help cope with a suction. To use this method, it is necessary to insert the cable into the pipe and giggled with neat movements to push the cable over the entire length, while rotating the handle clockwise. The blockage must collapse and either go further, or partially stay on the cable.
3) There are chemical ways to get rid of blockages: aerosols, household chemicals. It is necessary to act according to the instructions indicated on the packaging, but usually the product is poured into the drain hole and is left in this form for exposure to the time specified by the manufacturer (from 4 to 8 hours).
4) homemade, simple, but very effective tool for dissolving blockages: it is necessary to mix half a glass of soda with several tablespoons of coarse salt, pour the prepared mixture into the drain hole, then pour a glass of vinegar there and close the drain with a cork. After 10 minutes, rinse the pipe with hot water. This method is quite well cleaned by the sewer pipe, riding not only from blockages, but also from unpleasant odors.
What should not be done:
– Use powder products: they will fasten the blockage in the pipe even more.
– use chemicals along with acid or vinegar: the consequences of such chemical experiments can be very serious.
– boil. The effect of ordinary hot water is unlikely to dissolve the formed lump, but can cause deformation of the pipes, if they are plastic, or be a source of unpleasant odor.
If none of the above methods has been crowned with success, then the only alternative will be the challenge of the plumbing. We found these and other repair tips here.
