Preliminary orders for the Musso EV electric pickup truck, based on the Torres EVX SUV, have begun to be accepted in Korea. Unlike the donor crossover, the truck has a dual-motor all-wheel drive. In addition, the Musso EV has a more capacious battery.
The Korean company KG Mobility (KGM, former SsangYong) announced the creation of the Musso sub-brand for pickups in its homeland in January. In mid-February, the company declassified the exterior design of the first production model of this line – the KGM Musso EV electric truck. Now the manufacturer has shown the interior and published a price list, while pre-orders have begun to be accepted in Korea.
The Musso EV pickup truck “grew” from the KGM O100 concept, which was presented back in 2023. By the way, in Korean the word muso means “rhinoceros”. According to the idea of KGM marketers, it should evoke associations with “strength, grandeur and confidence.” But Musso EV is a so-called lifestyle pickup, because it is based on the electric SUV Torres EVX, that is, it has a load-bearing body.
The front part of the KGM Musso EV is made in the style of a related crossover: the pickup received similar two-tier optics. But the rear lights are original. The dimensions of the pickup have not yet been announced. But the load capacity has been revealed – only 500 kg. The length of the KGM Torres EVX is 4715 mm, the wheelbase is 2680 mm.
